Every two years, the World Monuments Watch issues a call to action for treasured cultural
heritage sites around the globe. In 2015, the project focused on I’timad-ud-Daulah and
Mehtab Bagh – the two surviving gardens of the 44 riverfront gardens that lined up the
Yamuna river during the Mughal era. Here you can witness the conservation efforts of WMF
the World Monuments Fund, to bring these two monuments to their original splendour

Thank you for choosing izi.TRAVEL as your tour guide. I am Aparna and so delighted to be
your guide in this walking tour of the well-preserved funerary garden of Itmad Daula,
popularly known as Baby Taj. Come, let us witness the love demonstrated by a daughter to
her parents. As a forerunner of Taj Mahal, this is also a symbol of love—Empress Nur
Jahan’s homage to her father. The Intricate details of the jewel box architecture, fine latticework and the brilliant inlay designs will surely mesmerize you. Yes, you have guessed it right.
